If he could do well in San Fran (which didn't have a RB until this season) catching balls as the #1 WR from the slew of QBs they've seen over the past few years, there's no reason why he can't succeed here as the #2 WR.

The question isn't "who is going to be JC's favorite receiver?". The real question is, "will JC be able to find the mismatches that MB could not?".
With Moss, REl, Lloyd, Cooley and Betts on the field at the same time, there has to be a mismatch someplace. There had to be one during the previous 9 weeks. MB just wasn't finding them. If JC can, he's going to burn down the house.
