Redskins could come home to RFK
Redskins Could Come Home To RFK - Sports - nbc4.com | WRC
WASHINGTON -- There's been some talk around town of a plan to bring the Redskins back to RFK Stadium. Officials said the plans are not specific, but the vision is of a new stadium with a dome. "People love the Redskins. I think people would love to have the Redskins back in the District. The accessibility of the RFK site versus FedEx Field is unquestioned," said D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans. What do you guys think? IMO I think it would be great to have them back in DC where they belong. Not to mention the shitty commute/location and parking at FedEx. One thing we can't deny is that Snyder has the money to do it, and knowing him and his marketing ability, he would probably do this......... Mods please move the article to the newswire. |

That would be the hottest thing EVER. I never got a chance to go when I was younger.

People think FedEx is noisy......it was ten times noiser in RFK. It was an awesome experience. Also, from what I've heard from older friends and co-workers is that the tailgating experience was ten times better than FedEx. It was more of a family atmosphere..... |

The city better be prepared to PAY. I've been to the old RFK. It's where the phrase "Rock the house" originated

Re: Redskins could come home to RFK
We talked about this pretty recently.
I wouldn't be at all suprised to see it happen. Snyder desperately wants a Super Bowl in DC, and the only way to make it happen would be to build a dome. |

Yeah, we wouldnt have to worry about public funds like the nat's did, since snyder has so much private money. I'd love a smaller, more well designed stadium, I hope we don't get a dome though, Grass is crucial, and so is homefield advantage. I think manning woulda won a superbowl by now if they didnt play in a dome.

Re: Redskins could come home to RFK
I'm sure Dan has looked at the feasibility of a FieldTurf, retractable dome conversion of Fed Ex Field.
Isn't RFK run down by modern stadium standards? |

The only reason for the roof would be for hosting a Super Bowl, other than that I think they would keep it open. |

I hope they consider acoustics like the Seattle stadium. I want it to be completely INSANE for opposing teams.

RFK is nowhere near modern stadium standards. Just the seats alone are uncomfortable. If you weigh over 200lbs, you'll be uncomfortable sitting down in RFK. |

Re: Redskins could come home to RFK
It has the shadows because of it's toilet like shape, not because because it's a retractable dome (which it isn't).

And it has the players that go along with the whole toilet theme. I like to think of them as little pieces of shit running around.

Re: Redskins could come home to RFK
I think Dan is going to have to have a hell of a deal to do it. Like all the revenue. I doubt the city is going to be on board with that plan. I will be interesting to watch.
