I got aggervated when he missed the slant last week, then I saw the replay where he was laid out to catch the ball thrown 8 feet behind him while his feet were still trying to run, and forgave him.

I'm sick of people berating lloyd. He's been a great team guy since he's been here and has been a great reciever for us. He plays with passion, he celebrates good blocks, and he's quickly becoming one of my fav. redskins.
Lloyd certainly isn't a problem at all, but I'm tired of the "we have great receivers" excuse. Every team has their own Brandon Lloyd-type. I like what he's doing thus far, but it's nothing to get turned on about.

But thanks for speaking for me. You'd make a better GTripp than anyone but me. Or Tafkas. Or Hesscl. Or pretty much anyone else.

Would you agree with a statement such as the higher a DE gets drafted, the less of a chance he will bust. Not underacheive, bust out of the league. Like if there is a DE who gets drafted 5th and a DE who goes 17th, would it be unreasonable to expect the guy who had the skill set to go 5th to be the safer pick?

I know with QBs and WRs it's rarely the case, but DE's are usually about getting the biggest, most talented guy, so it seems like a good place to go with a top 5 pick.

I don't for example see Mario Williams out of the league anytime soon, even if he doesn't live up to potential.

you actually said it in this thread, but say it again, the guy should be in there. If anything put him at safety...or defensive end... he wont get pushed around more than carter or blow more plays that AA

Well, seeing that he'd be playing out of position, he just might.

But yeah, if we were out of it enough to get Campbell in at QB, how are we not out of it enough to get Rocky in at LB?

mario williams was the best DE prospect since julius peppers, so that's not really a fair comparision (and MW was thought to need a year or two to gear up since he's more athletic freak than football player right now).

courtney brown was taken #1 and he's had a combined total of 26 tackles and 2 sacks in the last THREE years. going #1 or in the fifth round doesn't protect you from busts. yeah a #1 is less likely to bust than a 5th rounder, but i mean, that's why one guy's getting drafted earlier in the first place.

and moving lemar to OLB and bringing in some unknown to call/QB the defense after one offseason with a bunch of guys he doesn't know sounds like a very bad idea.

I think chemistry is a mess right now. That will happen when you bring in guys like Andre Carter who sucks, relegating emotional leader Renaldo Wynn to the bench. And when you bring in TJ Duckett and get your RBs all upset. And then when Duckett doesn't play, he gets pissed. And when you let Ryan Clark, a guy Sean Taylor got along with and trusted, leave for free agency and bring in Adam Archuleta who SUCKS and pay him more than Sean Taylor (not to mention every other safety in the league). I think the players are irked at some of these moves. I know I'd be, it's human nature.

But chemistry is only part of the problem. It will be a miracle if we make the playoffs next year, IMO. Someone's going to have to do some amazing teambuilding to get this team all on the same page by next season.
i think you are right on the money. team chemistry means everything in this TEAM sport. i think our coaching staff under valued r clarks effect on sean taylor, and the secondary as a whole. the times wynn was on the field against philly, they just looked better and more enthused about playing. and as much as i hate to say it, maybe lavar the leader is missed. because lavar the player is definitely on the downside of his career. and can anyone tell me why mcintosh isnt playing? because watching holdman exist on the field is brutal. he NEVER gets involved in any game action
