I think Marshall has been solid but nothing more. I think we miss Pierce's leadership and by all accounts Marshall's strong suit isn't being a leader. Physically he is smallish so he struggles against the run. I think he is better suited to play the weakside where he can make more plays in space and utilize his speed and agility personally. I would like an upgrade in the middle and to get Rocky in there. I am concerned about Rocky's lack of playing time. Seems ominous to me when do-nothings are getting the action and he isn't. Maybe this weekend was the beginng.

But overall I think we have greater needs elsewhere on D. A safety, starting level corner, another nickleback type corner, a tackle with push, and a end who brings something(anything please) to the table opposite Carter.

We are getting old on D and if ROcky is any indication it takes a lot of time for young guys to gain Williams' confidence enough to play. We need to get guys in now so they can be ready before we get too old.
