Re: Gibbs still likes how players are selected....ugh
This is over three years , and to get these players we used {4 }1st rd picks , {4} 2nd rd picks , a third , a 4th , one 5th & 6th rd pick . Most gms would have built a complete defence with that many hight picks . We have paid 10's of millions more in signing bonus's than our division opp's and we have maybe one pick in the upcoming drafts first 4 rounds . That does not included the $$$$'s and 6 draft picks invested in Brunnell ,Loyd & M. White . Since letting Pierce walk , we have spent 6 draft picks on Lb's , if they don't think they need to change ,,, are we going to see a change in the team we see on the field ?

Re: Gibbs still likes how players are selected....ugh
So Marty is 10 - 2 , has a loaded roster , is about 12 million under the cap , a draft full of picks ,,,,, we are 4 - 8 , very little cap room , no depth at OL , a weak secondary , poor pass rush and very few draft picks ,,, but Marty is the " dumb " one . He had our cap in order . And having to ask your players to restructure every year is risky . Does anyone think that guys like CP , S. Taylor are going to stay here if we keep losing , when they can hit F/A , get big bucks from a team that is improving ? Hope like hell that JC is an awsome qb next year !

Hey, nothin wrong with wearing a jersey on game day or to the stadium, but when you wear one out in public during the week it just seems gay to me...not that theres anything wrong with that, but IMO it just doesn't seem right. Game day, good, out on a date with the wife, bad.

My bad . I like Gibbs , just wish we had a GM , or would stop trading so many draft picks away . Keep wearing that jersey , I acually have a Sunny Jurgenson #9 jersey , have had that thing for 30 years . Just of note , the Jersey is just about too small for me to wear , but of course I have # 44 .

Czabe's article was right on the money. I still think people are blinded by Gibbs 1.

Why is that? He ended his one season with the Redskins at 8-8...after starting 0-5. Snyder should've given him a couple more years, I think he would've had the team playing at the level as what he has San Diego playing at now. Of course, I'm happy we have Joe Gibbs, but firing Marty in favor for Steve Spurrier was a bone-headed move!

Re: Gibbs still likes how players are selected....ugh
Yeah, with a pattycake schedule in the second half. I loved him because he showed no respect to Darrell Green, got rid of a lot of the long-time coaches and replaced them with his family, and he got rid of players who "didn't fit his system". (E.g. Larry Centers, James Thrash)(Mike Sellers also left that year, but I don't know Marty's line on that one.)
And you knew if you were behind the game was lost. He looks better now because he "opened up the offense" in San Diego this year. This may be because he's seeing what Brees can do in New Orleans without a straightjacket on him. And until this year, San Diego was a team that always "underperformed." I'm glad he got rid of Mr. Schittenheinie. |

If you're asking why Marty is a choke artist, please go back one page and view my post on his stats on his playoff record.
