Agreed about him not likely coming back, but didn't Gibbs refer to him as a "core Redskin?"
I disagree about him not being a GW type cb, he played very physically in 04, of course it was his contract year. He jammed recievers & played tough man coverage, & tackled fairly well that year.
I think we let him go for the same reason we let Pierce go, they thought they were expendable & not worth signing for that much $. Minnesota only outbid the Skins by $1 Mil. & structured his deal so he got more in the early years. We definitely tried to re-sign him.
I doubt he'll be back simply because we'll be looking to upgrade & he's not the best available.
