PS Trading Portis would force us to carry $8.1 million in deadcap money in 2007. Portis is scheduled to count a lot in 2007 as it currently stands: $7.0 million. So it doesn't seem like going from $7.0 to $8.1 would be a big deal.

But the team fully expects to restructure Portis' contract to pay him what he's owed, yet reduce that $7.0 million cap figure.

To be fair to Fox Sports, all they said was the Texans plan to pursue Portis. They said nothing about whether we'd be willing to discuss it. Close examination of the situation tells us there's no way in hell we'd consider it.
