Re: What about Kurt Warner to back up JC?

Warner isn't an upgrade over Brunell or Collins. Just another famous name. Familiar with the offense? You mean the Rams offiense of 1999. That was another century. He may be familiar with what Saunders did in St. Louis, but not with the offense developed here.

Unless Brunell is gone, and I don't think coach Joe will let that happen, and unless we sign Warner to the minimum, lets leave this one alone.

We need a Veteren to play at a moments notice and a Young guy to groom incase the JC experiment goes bad.

We've had some decent young guys on the team the last few years. We need draft someone in the later rounds and make him earn his money.

Think of what holmgren did in Greenbay with a young matt hasselbeck and what he is doing now with seneca wallace.

I agree. I think that it may be good to let Saunders pick a late round QB to mold. He could go to the practice squad this year and next (if Brunell sticks around).

NOooooooooooooo, they're all going to laugh at you...

There is no reason to bring in a guy who can't hold onto the ball, and folds under pressure. Warner needs to go back to bagging groceries at the Savalot in Podunk, Iowa.

While Brunell may need to be replaced, Warner definitely is not the answer.

Brunell knows the O and the WR's which no other back up does. So if he is healthy enough we should just have him restructure his contract and move forward with JC & MB. With MB as backup we should bring in a late round draft pick to groom if needed.

I Dont Think There Is Need For Warner. Back Up Qb Should Be Younger. At Least Someone Who Is In The Middle Of His Career. Go Skins!!

I don't think bringing in Warner or keeping Brunell is good at this point. Too much risk involved in bringing Brunell back for that kind of money.

Yes, even a restructure isn't worth it. And Warner is fumble prone and he seems a couple of good licks away from an injury himself.

Pretty much my sentiments exactly. That and I don't know that I trust Joe Gibbs with another veteran quarterback who used to be decent.

Heck no. A rested Brunell will be a LOT better than Warner.

I wouldn't even want him bagging my groceries, he'd fumble my eggs and give my milk to the person in the next lane.

His good years in the grocery business AND football are now behind him.

I don't believe it would be a good move nor an upgrade to Brunell. If anything, we should get another young qb and let him ride the bench like Jason did. Have Collins (gulp) back up JC for the first year anyways.

Noooooooooo Kurt Warner. Fumbles twice every game. Collins is a serviceable backup IF MB isn't here. Should Collins go down we have a great #3, Randel El. I know its not possible but there are worse #3's out there.

Whatever happens I hope they end this Brunell saga. It's time to move on.

This is a comment that I am surprised I have not heard more of. This is the way we should go...we won't, but this is how we can set ourselves up for the future. We will end up keeping Brunell, and it's not that bad of an idea due to his knowledge of the Skins at this point, but he is one damn expensive backup. We can save money by cutting him, so I think if I was the GM, I'd cut him and draft a rough around the edges QB and let him sit on the bench for a couple seasons learning.

Re: What about Kurt Warner to back up JC?

With as much as Campbell runs, I am not comfortable that we'd be one hit away from Todd Collins being our starter. He doesn't belong on the field for us EVER. He shouldn't even have a helmet, we should just hire him as a playbook consultant. That IS the only reason we signed him anyways.
