I was actually just imitating that Taco Bell commercial with the Lions (the animal, not Detroit's crappy team).

I'd be lying if I said I knew who Ricardo Montalban was though.

I don't disagree with anything in this post, in fact I agree 100%. My only point was that it's early to call ARE a bust and he had a decent year in 2006. In fact, ARE was one of the few bright spots from 06; he made plays whenever he touched the ball (even if he didn't touch the ball enough).

As has been said, ARE had a good year. I look for him to substantially improve, and play a more integral role in 2007

Many of his catches were clutch... getting a crucial first down to save a drive here and there.

Yeah he hasn't produced numbers, but like Sheriff implied: in a predominantly run oriented offense that didn't start producing untill the second half of the season, he did fine.

Quite frankly I don't care who our receivers were this past year... the ball wasn't getting to them. Evaluating someone's worth is pre-mature considering there is a lot of time left on his contract.

Was his contract excessive for his value to the team this year? Without a doubt.

Has he proven to be a valuable asset? Yes.

I think his potential right now is through the roof... and so far he's taken advantage of every oppurtunity he's been given. I'm just hoping that the oppurtunity will present itself next season.
