There has to be more to this than whats on the surface. I think that the Bears and the Redskins might be working together. First of all the Briggs trade makes Briggs look like hes in demand which would make other teams feel like the window of oppurtunity to acquire Briggs was closing. Desperate people do desperate things.

The Redskins on the other hand get to look like they are no longer pushovers by telling the Bears this is their final offer. They also get to add to their smoke and mirrors job regarding what they're going to do with the 6th pick.

Man I love conspiracy theories.
