Man, I agree with you there. That Viking loss at home really set the tone for the season. It's as if they were all still locked in preseason mode -- they came out and played like zombies.

While the run defense in that game was solid -- I think Minnesota was held to around 3 yards per rush or less, -- what really stood out was zero QB pressure on Brad Johnson whom we harassed in '04 in the opening game against the Bucs. It was at that point where our secondary and pathetic pass rush was exposed. When the season wore on, Griff and Salave'a got more and more winded and nicked up.

That's a testament to old age setting in with football players. Instead of getting stronger, our D-tackles just took beating after beating and got weaker. I can't think of a better case to make as to why the defensive tackle position should be the key issue that needs to be addressed this offseason.

I hope it happens with the draft - because thusfar, the front office has shown little interest in picking up help for the front four. It's all been linebackers and the secondary so far.
