Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
Rumor is Carolina is shoping him for a trade. would the forum be happy if we traded up for CJ then traded springs and a 4th for Jenkins? Personally I would be fine with it

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
What do you have to trade to move up though? Also, doesn't KJ have an injury history?

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
He is injury prone too. I think he has had major injuries for the past 3 seasons, but at the right price...FCUK it...Couldnt hurt anymore than our current lineup.

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
If the asking proce is only a cornerback and a 4th round pick, Kris Jenkins would have been in Philly 30 seconds after that became known.
I suspect the asking price is lots more than that.

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
He had real bad injury seasons in 04,05 in 2006 he was active for all 16 games. His stats below:

POSTED 10:55 a.m. EDT; LAST UPDATED 12:52 p.m. EDT, April 7, 2007 PANTHERS SHOPPING JENKINS When the Carolina Panthers signed defensive tackles Ma'ake Kemoeatu and Damione Lewis in 2006, some league insiders assumed that the moves were a sign that the team was thinking about to parting ways with defensive tackle Kris Jenkins. A year later, the Panthers reportedly are trying to make it happen. According to Pat Yasinskas the Charlotte Observer, sources from multiple teams say that the Panthers have made it clear that they would be willing to trade Jenkins if the price were right. G.M. Marty Hurney declined to comment on whether Jenkins is on the trading block. The Panthers also have Jorden Carstens under contract, and recently signed Chad Lavalais. Jenkins started 16 games in 2006, and made it back to the Pro Bowl after two seasons that were marred by injury. But he has skipped out on the start of the team's offseason program, despite having a $175,000 workout bonus in his contract. We're hoping that Jenkins gets traded to the Raiders, so that he can play alongside his idol (eye roll), Warren Sapp. Said Jenkins about Sapp in 2005: "I hate him. Everybody says I'm supposed to be polite when I talk to you all, but I hate him. He talks too much, he doesn’t make sense, he's fat, he's sloppy, he acts like he's the best thing since sliced bread. He's ugly, he stinks, his mouth stinks, his breath stinks, and basically his soul stinks, too." Jenkins also said that seeing Sapp celebrate on the Panthers' home field after a 2004 game that Jenkins missed due to a season-ending shoulder injury drove Jenkins to stop going to the team's games -- and to increase his consumption of alcohol. Though Jenkins made a strong comeback in 2006, our guess is that other teams are still concerned about his work ethic, and his ability to stay healthy. It's a risk-reward thing, and the question is whether the potential downside will make another team shy away from a guy who still has a solid potential upside.

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
It might not be too wise to get your hopes up about landing Jenkins under any circumstances. He went to school here in the area but he has no love for the Redskins. I have actually heard him in interviews say how much he hates the Redskins and the fans. I'm not so sure I would want a player who has made disparaging remarks like that on the team.
Granted he's a talent (when healthy) but I would consider passing on him.

Welcome tazhog...Think twice about Jenkins. Many think of the talent he would bring and not the excess baggage. He's prone to injury, and would command a sizeable contract. His first three years were decent though he benifited greatly from playing next to Julius Peppers.

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
Even though Jenkins had a nice come back season last year even made the pro-bowl. I have my doubts about him. I would pass on Jenkins.

Re: A Kris Jenkins Rumor
I'd rather see us end up with a DT in the draft. But if we end up doing something stupid like trading for Lance Briggs or Asante Samuel, then I'd be all for Kris Jenkins.
SOMETHING has to be done at DT.
