"Touchdown Washington Redskins"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2004Sep5.html
Nobody seems to be talking about this article in todays (monday) post. I was very upset when they fired Frank Herzog, I used to listen to him on sundays in high school when I had to work, and I know a lot of other people, especially those who have been around longer were upset as well. Reading this article, I had no idea that Larry Michael had these coporate connections, and now I am even more furious. Its hard to say how it exactly all went down, but it is pretty suspicious that this guy Michael was hired right away without considering anyone else, maybe someone with nfl experience. Well Im done ranting for now i want to hear your thoughts |

It sounds to me like you feel that they were obliged somehow to open the position for auditions. Welcome to the real world.

Yeah, it sucks! In a way, the network is obliged, because finding the best person for the job ensures the most enjoyment for us (the fans). People always want the best because the best produces better ratings.

Why did Sonny and Sam not take a stand and say if you don't bring back Frank then we won't come back. My guess is they wanted him out to otherwise they could have said somthing.

I think you hit the nail on the head Winskins...it's all about the RATINGS and giving the advertisers that age group that the ADVERTISERS love, the younger set, the ratings gurus don't like the older announcers........they want a "hip" younger guy.....they don't care a rag about tradition, wisdom, experience... |

no redskin fan wanted him out, so who listens to him thats not a redskin fan that has so much to do with ratings? It had to be something internal. My guess is sonny and sam wanted him out.
