I personally don't see anything wrong with it. I don't see how talking about ways to prevent tragedies like these is at all disrespectful to the dead. If anything, it shows a great appreciation for human life in general; we're talking about the best way to prevent senseless deaths like these. I don't know a better way to honor their lives.

Well, it's not a matter of right or wrong. It's just a matter of being sensitive, that's all.
