Roster move: LB in, LB out
The Redskins made a roster move today...
Picked up LB Dominique Stevenson off waivers from the Bills. Dropped LB Clifton Smith to make room. Williams and special teams coach Danny Smith are familiar with Stevenson from their Bills days. |

Nothing flashy but seemed to have some contribution in most games last year. Knows Williams defense. We will see.......... |

Actually, he was the leading tackler on the Bills' special teams last year. A great, needed addition, who will be able to contribute immediately. Since we'll be kicking off a lot, we'll probably be hearing his name Sunday.

he had 40 tackles on ST and 24 were solo in 2003... he'll help the team more there than smith would sitting on the bench...

Wow, 40 tackles and 24 solo on special teams is pretty special! That's a pretty big number for a special teamer. I think this is a great move. The special teams tackling has been a real sore-spot, even through this preseason. Hopefully, this guy will help change that.

I don't know Clifton Smith from Snuffy Smith.
But if this guy made 2.5 special teams tackles per game last year and 1.5 solo special teams tackles last year, I have to think that it showed up on the films that the new coaching staff watched. So unless they are blind or dumb as door stops, they had to have Clifton Smith penciled in as a special teams player going into training camp. So how did he lose his job there? It's not like the Bills have so many future Hall of Famers on their roster that they have to toss away players that are merely outstanding...
