Re: Jordan Palmer?
Only so many guys can go high. Chris Leak and Zambransky didn't even get drafted and they were two very good college qb's. I thought Troy Smith ended up in a good spot but he didn't even go until the last pick in the 5th.

Re: Jordan Palmer
I really like this pick, we obviously couldnt find any d-linemen that we liked in this horrible draft class, and picking Palmer saves us almost a mil in cap room when we cut Collins. Even if we dont really believe in him (which I think we do) he is a smart pick for us. Also if he turns out to be good, we have a cheep backup when Brunell is cut.

Re: Jordan Palmer
Good pick.
I had not heard of him and my initial reaction when we drafted a QB was "WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" After learning about Jordan Palmer and thinking it over, I love the pick. He's an incredibly talented and overlooked QB and I'd rather have him than Collins any day. Collins won't see the field anyways, so why not have a great backup of the future for Campbell, or God forbid, an eventual replacement if Campbell gets hurt on a scramble or something. 2007 QB Depth 1. Campbell 2. Brunell 3. Palmer 4. Randel El 2008 QB Depth: 1. Campbell 2. Palmer 3. Free Agent 4. Randel El Better plan for the future than keeping Todd Collins...a guy who has proven he won't cut it. Great upside beats proven mediocrity any day. Palmer will have a great environment to learn too, Gibbs with Campbell (very knowledgable QB) and Brunell (vet leadership, position to be a good teacher). Holding a clipboard and studying seems to have worked out GREAT for Campbell and we could be set for a decade at QB now. |

Re: Jordan Palmer
Sounds like a practice squad player to me, I'd be surprised if he makes the active roster.
