The Gorillaz
Anyone else a fan of these guys? I love the group, myself, and just saw a performance in the Music in HD channel, they put on one hell of a show. Just wondering if anyone liked these guys?

Man, I dig them. Bought their CD after Feel Good Inc. and love almost every track.

I like them too. Del tha Funkie Homosapien is one of my all-time favorite MCs, and I pretty much like anything he's a part of.

Re: The Gorillaz
I'm a casual fan, I have their discs but I've never really dived into them completely. I have seen that HD show and it's pretty good.

Re: The Gorillaz
I love them too, but I heard they're not going to make any more albums.
I've also seen that show on TV a bunch of times and i really liked it. I bought a DVD of a show from the same tour (except this one was shot in London, not Harlem) and it's nowhere near as good. The set isn't as brightly lit and a lot of the guests (Dennis Hopper, for instance) aren't actually there live.

Re: The Gorillaz
Del is the man. I love when he hooked up with Automater for Deltron 3030.
If you like Del, check out MF Doom, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Slug, and Sage Francis.

Re: The Gorillaz
WORD.
Deltron 3030 is one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. But, my favorite Del album is probably "No Need for Alarm". Dan the Automator is one of my favorite DJs/producers. His stuff is always excellent. You guys have probably heard of Handsome Boy Modeling School ... Automator and Prince Paul -- can't miss! I have heard a little of MF Doom and Aesop Rock's stuff, but I haven't given them enough time. I like Atmosphere and Slug, but I've never heard of Sage Francis. I'll have to check them/him out.

Re: The Gorillaz
Aesop Rock is another guy I like a lot. I owe my roommate from 2 semesters ago for him and Del. He was also really into Jedi Mind Tricks, they're pretty decent too.

Re: The Gorillaz
3030 is an amazing hip-hop album. I love his rhymes, and his sound. He's the total package right there. Any info on what del has been up too as of late?
Right now I can't get Atmosphere's "You can't imagine how much fun we're having" out of my CD player. I bought it the day it came out, and ANT's beats are just unreal on this one. He really out-did himself, and you can here the maturation of his style. It's definitely a classic. Listen to "watch out". Great track. Anything rhymesayers your can't go wrong with. P.O.S., Soul Position, Eyedea and Abilites, and of course... Atmosphere. The Midwest has got some nasty hip-hop.

Yo, if you ain't peeped out MF Doom- you should immediately. Not sure if you know, but was originally from the group KMD ("Black Bastards", etc). He's got a real unique concept to each of his albums... peep out "Vaudeville Villain" first... also, his album with Dangermouse is really good- dangerdoom! |

Re: The Gorillaz
Another group who flew under the radar for a long was Styles of Beyond. 2000 Fold is a badass album and not being able to find Megadef anywhere is killin me. They're finally getting some love now cause they hung out with Shinoda on the Fort Minor album, but they're pretty sick.

Re: The Gorillaz
Here's "Felt", It's basically a fun project with Slug and Ant (atmosphere), with Murs. Felt has two decent albums, definitely good driving music.
