please-insight on CHRIS COOLEY!
hey guys, mississippi fan here. love that smoot...lol. i need some insight on c. cooley. i am thinking of picking him up in fantasy football. whats his deal? will he play fb and te? will he ever get carries from fb position? will he get passes out of the back field? will he line up as te any? is the starting te dominate? i hope he is a fanasty jewel in the making. in yahoo i can play him as te or rb this offers some advantages. any comments concerning cooley's performance or projections is welcome...gooo brunell...gibbs...skins!

cooley can play...whether he gets to play is the question. Right now no one knows what Gibbs intends to do with him. You'll just have to take a chance on him.

My opinion:
Cooley's best case scenario fantasy wise is 30 catches and 4-6 TD's. |

Yeah 6 is probably a bit high, 4 is probably more likely but Cooley seems like he could be a good goal line target with his size and hands. I guess we'll see how it works out.

i dont think cooley will get any carries bro... he's an H-back. they play similar to a fb position yet play more like a te. there should be a te in as well when cooley is on. think of it as a twin tights formation

got ya...just read on sportsline that brunell likes the short pass to cooley...looks like cooley is a versital player and that can lead to some unexpected pointmaking plays from him if gibbs will give him the chance

he blocks and he catches passes... he's preseason has gone well, he's starting, and he seems like a cool guy that just loves football (not that that matters in fantasy football, but nice to know that not everyone's a complete dick).
btw, welcome to the boards... i have cooley in FIVE leagues as a backup, but i'll probably be starting him, since my other TEs aren't really all that great (not gonzo/KWII/shock). |

I got KWII in my draft, but I'm thinking of discharging the "Soldier" in favor of Cooley. Fuck it, I'll do it. BTW, I suck at fantasy football. Too loyal to the team...

hehe i was able to get cooley really late in all my leagues (13th-15th) so there wasn't a lot of downside for me... you should be able to keep KWII and replace your backup though... at least get a trade for KW.

Get an old tape of the Redskins.......check out the oldtime Redskin H backs and this is what Cooley will do......he will block, he will catch........
