I would be surprised if we didnt have the number one defense after week one, for whatever its worth.

Every facet of the defense was covered today, especially the pass rush (Brad Johnson might be hearing steps in his sleep after today). Arrington looked completely sweet being back on the weak side, where he belongs. He had one nice tipped pass and that sack at the end of the game. Sean Taylor made a nice play on that almost fumble (which would have been a fumble if the play was reviewed) and Bowen made a difference that game. In fact, it looked like the 'skins were celebrating Bowenfest; that guy just went from just another no-name in the league to a man for offenses to fear. That just goes to show what a coordinator can mean to a team and its players. Finally, 4 sacks: Goooood Loooord! Williams will kill 'ems!

The stats look like ours from last year what a difference a coach makes.

I loved it. HOw long has it been since we dominated like this? I know we had high ranked D's, statistically, but this just seems, well, meaner. Kinda reminded me of the 91 D when Wilbur Marshall would blitz.
(On a more Curmugeonly note, the Bucs offense is pretty pathetic. Charlie Garner? Not gonna do it. And Galloway droped the ball and injured himself in one swift motion. What a joke. Kinda wish he was still in Dallas... THe next two games will be bigger tests for the D, though next week should be better for the O.)

The Bucs offense isn't exactly the second coming of the greatest show on turf, but they are still a solid and well coached group. I was actually surprised they didn't try to get the ball to Garner more on screens and dumpoffs.
With Galloway out for a while McCardell's phone could be ringing very soon, they really need a proven guy out there and 100 year old Tim Brown isn't going to cut it. |

It may not be the best offense in the league but is a decent one and the Defense flat out dominated. I mean heck look what happened the great D in Baltimore, It is up to the Defense to set the tone and the Redskins Defense set that tone on the first possesion.
