Au Contraire D65,
I totally agree about Florida. We have many "natives" that take a backseat to nobody on the Hillbilly scale. I think Texas may be worse, but not sure (as I have lived there as well).
Additionally, I spent about 15 years running around Northern W.Va in my youth. Incredible state, and some of the best times of life.
I just could not resist the odd shot

Supposedly Chantix is a breakthrough when it comes to this kind of therapy. Good luck.

What part did you live in? I lived in Shepherdstown, right on the panhandle.

Scherr area, about 20 miles Northwest of Romney. Pretty remote area. We had a little farm (100 acres) we leased out, but I spent a hell of a lot of time up there.

Here's a tip...begin the practice of making yourself put the ciggy out on your forehead whenever you get weak and have one. You'll get sick of that pretty quickly.

I consider Pennsylvania my home state (my family has lived there since 95. I moved around a lot as a kid so that's the longest they've been anywhere). James Carville once said about Pennsylvania that it's just Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with West Virginia in between.
I LIVE in north-central Florida. Might as well be WVA. Everywhere you look there are F-350 pickups with Earnhardt stickers, rebel flags, and huge tires. I'm moving back to DC June 5th. THANK GOD.

I was a pack a day smoker for 2 or 3 years when I was 19-22 years old. One morning I woke up and went to have my morning cig, and it just disgusted me for some reason. I quit that day and didn't have a single cigarette for like 8 months. Then I started having one or two if was out drinking. It's been that way for like 6 years now. When I have a busy week and don't have any alcohol, I don't even think about smoking. For some reason when I go out and have beers I have to have a cig or two. Nothing excessive, just a couple. I've started taking nicorette gum out with me when I know I'm gonna have some drinks, and it helps some. I always feel like shit the morning after I smoke. Blech.
