Re: Portis apparently is not a dog lover
Clinton actually made the top 10 of google's new "Google Trends" aka hot queries. I looked it up and saw his name there at #5 and was like WTF???
I think Clinton would be very wise to STFU. |

Re: Portis apparently is not a dog lover
give it time and people will get over the stupid dog thing.
don't some people eat dogs? i probably would. i'm kind of getting sick of the top headlines for sports being about dumb animals. |

Re: Portis apparently is not a dog lover
Wow i think the most shocking thing about all this is that dog fighting is a feloney in VA!!! Thats crazy.
Also in nfl.com's rumor mill: "but now comes possibly the worst of all. There are allegations of Vick being connected to dogfighting" This statement comes after they talk about Mick Vick flicking off his home team fans, and giving herps to a ex girlfriend. IMO both are far worse then some saturday night dog fighting, espicially giving the herp to a person intentionally, that’s just flat out wrong and disgusting National Football League - CBS SportsLine.com |

Since when have football players have to be politically correct? ... this is just stupid... He not the president, he runs up and down a field with a football.

Re: Portis apparently is not a dog lover
What does any of this have to do with football???
Neither Vick nor CP are condoning dog fighting, there is rampant speculation everywhere and this wreaks of smear campaign journalism. Even if there were felony charges against vick, who cares if portis supports him. He is his own man and is entitled to his opinion. Why should we as skins fans try to hold CP up to some high moral standard as a human being? He isn't elected to office, he just plays football. He isn't "embarrassing" this organization by expressing his views about the triviality of this whole F-ed up fake ass Vick scandal. Ppl just need to chill the F*$@ out and let everyone live their lives. If an NFL player is saying or clearly doing something that is against the league's rules and is detrimental to the team then by all means criticize him. But if he is just exercising his first amendment rights thru some benign comments leave him be. If you are foolish enough to make statements along the lines of trading portis or not cheering for him as much because of this, u don't deserve to be a skins fan.

Re: Portis apparently is not a dog lover
Funny how 90% of the last dozen posts on this thread are from people pleading that we all just "let it die."
Aint irony a bitch.

Re: Portis apparently is not a dog lover
I don't think anyone here is running Portis out of town, but if you look at his cap numbers for 2008 & 2009, his injury last year, the relatively cheap re-signing of Betts, and the fact that he has a high amount of career carries for a 205 lb. back, the writing is definitely on the wall for him to be out before either the 2008 or 2009 season....unless as you mentioned he stays injury free and is churning out 100 yd games regularly.[/quote]
BINGO! I don't care what he said. I am just saying the end has begun for Portis due to everything that is mentioned above. I HOPE I AM WRONG. |
