Decision-making runs cold???

The guy has NEVER thrown more than 13 INTs in a season. His career TD to INT ratio is more than 2 to 1. Last year in 10 games, he had only 6 INTs. His QB rating was 95. Even in 2005, when the Eagles were horrible, he had 9 INTs in nine games before shutting it down with the hernia.

Granted, he has days where everything he throws is low. But decision-making? He's one of the best ball-control QBs in the entire NFL.

McNabb never seems to get the credit he deserves for some reason.

Re: McNabb/Briggs trade?

You could argue that McNabb is the 3rd best QB (when healthy) in the NFL behind Brady and Manning.

I'd have no problem with that, when healthy he's top 5 at the very least.

That being said I do like Donovan. I witnessed him in person totally destroy the Univ of Michigan football team in the Big House his senior year at Syracuse and loved him ever since, but I do think he has reached the zenith of his career already. Like I said in my previous post, one good hit below the waist the right way and his career might be toast. Just wait til we unleash both Sean and/or Landry on his ass. IF they whack him on the knee if imght be lights out on his career. His reputation was made by his mobility, but with him knowing one good hit will end everything, those days could be over.
Decent points except for the first line. I think we'd all rather have Brady. But I don't see how that makes McNabb overrated.

I would hardly call McNabb overrated. W/out Owens, McNabb was having an MVP type of season last year before he got hurt. So that statement is ridicules. And you could say that about any player that gets hit on the knee. Knee injuries are probably the most common injury in the NFL. So again, I'm not sure what your talking about.

Agreed. It's definitely Manning and Brady at the top. But after that, you're looking at McNabb, Carson Palmer, and Drew Brees in some order. I can see a case for any of them being called #3.

Re: McNabb/Briggs trade?

why do Philly superstars get treated the way they do? Mcnabb is easily top 3, but gets ripped constantly. i guess the same things happened to Iversen, Lindross, Scott Rolen.... the list goes on and on. it seems like Philly cant stand players that stand out

Re: McNabb/Briggs trade?

I'm not sure I get that either. McNabb has become a little to loose with the media on occasion, and now has a rep as a whiner, but the guy is very talented QB.

Schmidt... Abreu... it's crazy.

If the game looks easy for certain players, then Philly fans assume they're not trying. The players they loved were Pete Rose, Lenny Dykstra, Reggie White, Charles Barkley and Brian Dawkins, because they always appeared to have their motor in the red-line.

But for some guys the game just comes naturally, and for some reason the fans just resent that. I dunno, makes no sense. I like production, myself.

Re: McNabb/Briggs trade?

McNabb is top three at what? being injured and watching from the sidelines every year.

What do you expect it's philly? You know the stadium that has a court/jail and all that great stuff, the stuff good fans need at a game.......?

I don't know. I remember watching the Championship game against Carolina and his throws were high, low, wide, late, early but all the announcers could do was blame James Thrash who was doing everything he could to try and bring these unpredictable passes in. Have you ever seen a second baseman handcuffed by the flip from Short? That was Thrash in Philly. I don't think McNabb has ever suffered from too much criticism except once and that guy got fired.

i guess it is because he has never won the big one even though he is easily in the top 5 at quarterback when he is healthy
