The "I won't be in the same room with one" brand of anti-semitism is indeed rare now, at least compared with, say, 1907. The kind that Buchanan and his ilk suffer from is the kind that thinks a Jew would be unable to put the interests of the United States ahead of the interests of Israel - which is an ironic thing for a Roman Catholic like Buchanan or Novak to believe. They don't feel any ongoing hostility towards Jews but they are quite suspicious of them. Just so people don't think I'm alone in this, here's a link I found in about 20 seconds: Ron Paul and Anti-Semitism - Latest Politics Blog

Yeah, there was something very strange about last night. For instance, Mitt Romney would never answer questions straight on regarding Iraq. Wolf had to keep rephrasing the question to get an answer. I'm not sure if McCain did himself good or harm with his response on immigration. He comes accross like he has a chip on his shoulder....maybe it's just me though. Ron Paul did draw some applause on his stance regarding the war. I'm just not sure he appeals to enough of the GOP base. |

Re: SGG's Pick the President Poll
There is not a sinlge Rep candiate that is worth air right now. We are staring down at what could end up being the worst choice of Presidential candidates in history. Not one Dem or Rep has the voice and stature to do this job in my opinion. God help us.

You don't like any of the Dem candidates either, I take it?

Re: SGG's Pick the President Poll
I wouldn't mind seeing a Thompson v. Obama race. In all honesty, I know absolutely nothing about Thompson's politics, but I know he's well liked by Democrats and I'd like to see an end to this awful partisan politics.

I think if Thompson can get some momentum before the Summer's end, he could jump in the polls. The Republicans are in need of something fresh right now. I think a Thompson/? v. Obama/Edwards race could be very likely. |
