I've been hit in the junk with a paintball and it stings, but it's nowhere near as bad as getting hit in the ear IMO. That was the only time that a shot really freaked me out/laid me out for a minute.
Plus, I'm like Warren from There's Something About Mary when it comes to my ears, so I freaked out a bit.
