I love Riggo the player, but to me, Riggins the "personality" comes across as an ass. He says whatever he can to draw attention to himself. Yeah, he did it as a player too, but the playing off-set it. Now, that's all there is.
Of course Gibbs appears different now, he's older....is anyone the same person they were 12 years ago??? Exactly how often has Riggins talked to Gibbs in the past 12, or really 19-20 years? Seems like Riggins is feeling left out because he wasn't somehow made involved in the new regime, so he has to trash Gibbs....hmmm....maybe that's why he wasn't made a part of it.... |

Since everyone here has immediately jumped on John Riggins for his comments that were less than honorific to St. Joe Gibbs. let me ask:
Are you sure that it wasn't Riggo busting his ass that allowed Joe Gibbs to have teams win some Super Bowls? John Riggins is in the Hall of Fame. I am having a lot of difficulty thinking of any player in there who is there because of who coached him... Having said all of the above, Joe Gibbs looks just fine on the sidelines!
