I Hate Predictions

I say this as a die hard skins fan that does enjoy seeing our beloved team spotlighted, however I think enough is enough. I can't turn on ESPN without seeing "Expert" analysis. I hear good things about the Redskins and bad things about them. Ive fell in the trap every year of getting pumped just to have a dreadful season. Its not that I'm not optimistic, and I can only pray this will be our year, but I just can't stand predictions at this point. Lets just play Redskin football, fuck the nonbelievers but lets not throne us superbowl champs quite yet.

Re: I Hate Predictions

I just hate how some of the espn "experts" aren't experts at all, and probably don't watch half the football that the people watching espn do. I guarentee I could outpredict 75% of those "experts". Some people are picking the redskins to win 6 games, that is ludicrous. And what the hell makes people think the rams are gonna be good????

Re: I Hate Predictions

The worst is how people are trying to predict what eli manning is gonna do. Eli manning doesnt know what eli manning is gonna do, I swear the kid shows up high on a different drug each game. And ROMO....who the hell knows. The only constant is the eagles, and they rely so heavily on a constantly injured QB. So once McNabb goes down....it's a complete tossup dependent on young QB's performances. I'd say the redskins rely the least on their QB so they are in decent shape offensively. So after all that.....I think the division is going to be very close with 4 teams all near 500.

Dallas is probably looking the most promising cause they are the youngest and returned most players. But Dallas has no character, and without parcells, the discipline might turn for the worst.

Overall.....the experts have no F'n clue with regards to our division, and they should admit that they are full of S***

Re: I Hate Predictions

After 10,000 simulations and computer modeling FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Football analysis and NFL stats for the Moneyball era - Authors of Pro Football Prospectus 2007 has the Skins winning 8.5 games, with a 20% shot at the division and a 30% shot at the playoffs. Meanwhile their computer modeling predicts that the 'Pokes win 6.5 games with a 4.3% chance at the division and 7.2% chance at the playoffs. Gotta like that. 8-9 wins seems about right for the 2007 Skins, though my heart says 10-6, but the schedule ain't easy. I just ordered Football Outsiders Football Prospectus after reading Greg Easterbrook's TMQ column yesterday and look forward to reading it.

Lets test you. ESPN will have its people make their predictions by tommorow so lets post them and you can post yours and we will see how you do. I guess anyone for that matter could test themself against them and maybe we could make that a weekly post to pick against the so called pros. and see how we do.

Re: I Hate Predictions

I won't have confidence in my week 1 picks, but I would have confidence in my standings projection picks. week 1 is a tossup

I agree on your QB points except for ours. If Campbell goes down, our offense will immediately lose all of its explosiveness. Campbell can run, break out of sacks and can fire balls into tight spots and go deep with great accuracy.

Brunell is no longer that kind of QB. He can be effective, but the gameplan will have to change. If Collins has to play, we're screwed. I bet Derrick Frost can throw harder than Todd can.

I disagree.....if our defense returns to form, we could do ok with collins, as we proved two years ago, running the ball and playing good D in the NFC can get you into the playoffs. If dallas loses romo......or the eagles lose mcnabb....or even worse if the giants lose eli....imagine

Re: I Hate Predictions

I don't like predictions either but honestly this year is the best chance we have to win the divison. McNabb I feel is not up to par like years before he just gets the benefit of doubt b/c he is McNabb he's 30 & injury prone bottom line. Eli has too many distractions dealing we Tiki, his coach, and leading the team deep in the playoff if he not ready & he will never get the time Peyton got in Indy he'll be benched next year. Romo has pressure it's do or die in Dallas they won't hestiate to put Brad Johnson Jerry Jones said they need to win now. We have the best chance this year medicore schedule outside the divison we'll be okay.
