Re: Redskins vs. Eagles predictions

The heat was a huge factor in wearing out the Dolphins.... I dont think we will have that on our side in Philly, @ night

I don't know about the heat factor, afterall they are a warm weather team. We just pounded them, that's all.

I have a couple of Philly fans in my office, and one of them swears McNabb is a couple of steps slower. Said he didn't look sharp at all v. Green Bay.

Heat?

They're from Miami.

They've got some serious heat down there. There's no way they should have been worn out due to the weather.

Yeah, that's what I was saying too. Thing is, Miami really is more of a finesse defense, so that can be worn down by a physical offense.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles predictions

I predict Al Saunders starts to show his value with this game. Loved his play calling against the Dolphins. He recognized our Pass attack wasn't clicking all the way and went hard with the run. Think our run / pass ratio was well into the run which was a good sign. Think he got cute too often last year and forced things.

Redskins enter a very hostile environment and Philly fans have not fear of the skins. McNabb and company have had so much luck and success against Washington I can't blame them. We come out smash mouth with Sellers leading hard nosed rushes that open up deep play action. We need quick releases because the pass rush and blitz package are extremely tought to beat. Our coaching staff knows this and rolls Campbell out and uses his quickness to our advantage. Portis and Betts have another solid outing and our rushing attack takes center stage again.

Defense continues to impress and get back to their top 10 form from 2004 and 2005.

I loved his playcalling too last week. Especially on that last drive. We just ran it down Miami's throat. That's Redskin football! I think AS, Gibbs and Buges are on the same page. But I'd be concerned if we get behind a bit this week.

I'm concerned also.

I'd love to see Skins come out with the JUMBO package and give them a steady diet of Sellers with Portis / Betts right behind him.

Punting the ball isn't all that bad early. Defense needs to step up and actually take the ball back and get some field position.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles predictions

how exactly are we going to contain McNAbb? He pretty much owns us each time we play...
Our usual keeping an LB on him at all times hasn't been working...in the past our best bet was to wait for him to be injured...what's changed?

That said, I expect Rocky and London to do a good job, but we are 2 for 10 against Phili since 2002 (both wins came in '05), which means we lost last year twice...in the first game McNabb tossed for 256 and 2 tds (imagine if they weren't ahead by so much...) and he was out of the second game...

just saying i'm worried...

We don't have to, his knee, groin, chest and whatever other injuries he's recovering from will do that for us. Mainly his knee. Seriously, he looked bad physically last week.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles predictions

Based on past experience. Based on the fact that Donovan is healthy, and angry that he lost last week to the Packers.

31 Philly
17 Skins

We keep it close through the first half, and falter midway through the 3rd quarter. I predict McNabb suffers some type of injury which will keep him inactive for the next 6 weeks.
