Why Ray Brown over Kenyatta Jones???
I don't understand why Ray Brown has started the last 2 games at RT. I was hearing a rumor that during the week before the Giants game he missed a practice early in the week, but why wouldn't he have started last night??? He played a great game vs. the Bucs tough D-line and has earned praise for his ability to work hard and fill Jansen's shoes so why would we have Brown who seems much slower blocking the blindside of Brunell???

Jones has been battling an ankle injury since the Bucs game. plus, Brown is an old Gibbs guy and has seen it all so he's been getting the nod.

I don't think Brown played all that bad.

Kenyatta Jones is a better run blocker than Ray Brown. Ray Brown is a better pass blocker than Kenyatta Jones. Kenyatta Jones requires help from a tight end when pass blocking . Ray Brown does not.
That might be why Bugel and Gibbs have decided to go with Brown over Jones. You don't want your blindside tackle being a weak pass blocker. Ray Brwon free's up the TE to help somewhere else or go out for a pass. Which why we saw Walter Rasby and Robert Royal (blocking TE's) catch a pass in the last two games, but not the first game. |

We'll see Kenyatta when he's healthy, I think. Ray can only do so much.

He is a big guy though, (has had weight problems) he has never been good against the speed rushers. He really is better suited to be a guard. He is alot like Derek Dockery. Not agile enough to be Left tackle with right handed QB's or the right tackle with a lefty QB (which is the stuation with Brunell as the starter). |

Reason Ray Brown is in there is that it is a toss-up between him and Kenyatta Jones. The difference is that Brown used to be very good and Jones has beern slightly abobe average for all of his career.
Anyone looking to the return of Kenyatta Jones as the event that changes the season for the Skins is deluding himself.
