Most people have a waste of an existance, but he made people smile and entertained people, which to me doesn't make it a waste.
Most people do whatever it takes to make money, whether that's digging ditches, or being Dilbert (work in cubicles doing monotonous, meaningless work), at least the mimes try to entertain.
