Amen to that. On paper, we shouldn't have any problems with them. But you know, someone emailed the SportsTalk 980 show a couple of days ago that hit the nail on the head. It read something like, "short week, traveling to an away game, the Browns are getting into panic mode, and right now, they're saying the same thing we are about Cleveland -- 'we have the Redskins this week, we've GOT to beat them'..."

Watch out.

It just seems like bad teams have been getting healthy against the Redskins the past couple of years.

Every time I think to myself that a player is going to suck it up (like Warner in week 2), they come out and do well.

Garcia is a damn good QB, so we should watch out.

Yeah...this should be an exciting game either way. With our offense finally starting to develop a little chemistry I think that we have a real good chance of having a breakout game. Plus, on the injury list I saw a lot of big names that are important to Browns like both of their starting corners, Lee Suggs, and some of their best defensive lineman, so I think that these factors will definitely help an offense, that is already starting to get a flame under it, ignite.

RB, 2 DL, 2 CB, TE - all starters, all injured... garcia is a good QB even if you don't like him... but he's a west coast QB thrown in a power running offense without the power running (no lee suggs), and i think that's why he's struggled (that and the crappy O line)... but he can scramble and make stuff happen if you let him...

More stuff on the Brownies, from ESPN.com:

Cleveland Browns: Browns offensive tackle Ryan Tucker and defensive lineman Gerard Warren will both miss this Sunday's game against Washington with injuries.

Tucker is out for the second straight week with a strained quadriceps muscle he suffered in the fourth quarter of a Sept. 19 game against Dallas.

Warren sat out last week, too. He strained a chest muscle in the second quarter of the season opener against Baltimore and irritated it a week later.

The banged-up Browns are hoping to have running back Lee Suggs and tight end Steve Heiden back against the Redskins.
-- Associated Press

We should be able to move the ball, control the clock, and keep Garcia off the field. IF we can begin to convert some of these long drives to points, things will begin to feel a lot better around here.

From Maske at the Post:

Cleveland tailback Lee Suggs practiced fully Wednesday. He has been sidelined since the preseason because of a pinched nerve in his neck but likely will play Sunday against the Redskins. . . .

Don't forget our very own Kenard Lang...he's been a monster for them so far.

The Browns are very beat up, if the Skins carry over their play from Monday night we shouldn't have much to worry about.

I agree with Matty. We should run for fun on that defense. Their Dline is so battered up, I could proboly rush for 100 yards if I got some good blocking...

Haha...maybe we should put you on goal line then Gmanc, but I think I would still rather have Portis in there :thumb:

I think that our offensive line should have a real chance to make some big plays against the torn up d-line of the browns. Obviously their contributions will be a huge part of Portis's game come sunday. I know a lot of people like to focus on the back, but I think that sometimes you have to look at the line and the kind of blocking he's likely to receive in order to figure out the kind of game the RB is going to get.
