Poem From An Nfc North Fan
THE VIKINGS HAVE HAD A WEEK TO RELAX
HAVE THEY RE-EVALUATED AS WELL? MAYBE THE ANSWERS WILL HAVE COME TO CHILDRESS IT SEEMS THAT ONLY TIME WILL TELL THERE HAS TO BE A WAY FOR THEM TO MOVE THE BALL WITH CONSISTENCY IF BOTH BACKS WERE ON THE FIELD AT ONCE THAT COMBINATION MIGHT JUST HOLD THE KEY THE QUARTERBACKS HOWEVER ARE JUST A MESS WITH THE ROSTER HOLDING NO TRUE STARS AT ALL ALTHOUGH THAT'S NOT REALLY MUCH OF A PROBLEM FOR THERE'S NO ONE WHO CAN REALLY CATCH THE BALL THE DEFENSE HAS PICKED UP YET AGAIN FROM WHERE THEY WERE WHEN LAST SEASON ENDED PRETTY MUCH UNABLE TO STOP THE PASS WHILE THE RUNNING GAMES ARE WELL DEFENDED THE CHICAGO BEARS ARE LYING IN WAIT AS THE VIKINGS HEAD OFF TO SOLDIER FIELD COMING OFF AN EMOTIONAL VICTORY IN GREEN BAY WHERE THEY WERE JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO CLOSE THE DEAL THE BEARS HAVE BEEN IN HIBERNATION UNTIL LAST WEEK'S WIN JOLTED THEM AWAKE BUT IF THEY THINK THE VIKES WILL LAY DOWN AND DIE THAT WOULD BE A FOOLISH AND TRAGIC MISTAKE WHILE PLAYING THE BEARS LAST SUNDAY NIGHT THE PACKERS' TEAM FINALLY HIT THE WALL WATCHING THEIR UNBEATEN RECORD SLIP AWAY LIKE THE OFTEN-TURNED OVER FOOTBALL TURNOVERS, PENALTIES AND NO RUNNING GAME ALL CONTRIBUTED TO THE UNDOING OF GREEN BAY NOT TO MENTION AN OVERRATED DEFENSE WHO COULDN'T STOP CHICAGO OR THEIR BIG PLAYS THIS WEEK IT'S THE 'SKINS WHO COME TO VISIT BRINGING A RECORD MUCH LIKE THE PACKERS' OWN THE RUNNING GAME THERE IS PRODUCTIVE AND THEIR DEFENSIVE TALENTS ARE WELL-KNOWN JASON CAMPBELL IS ANOTHER SOUTHERN BOY WHO CAN REALLY DROP BACK AND THROW THE BALL WHILE CLINTON PORTIS LOVES TO SCURRY DOWNFIELD IF IT'S NOT THE RECEIVERS GETTING THE CALL GREEN BAY WILL HAVE TO PLAY FLAWLESSLY FOR THE 'SKINS 'D' WILL PROVIDE A STIFF TEST LET'S HOPE THEY DON'T OBSESS ON THE RUNNING GAME AND JUST LET BRETT DO WHAT HE DOES BEST THE BEARS AND VIKINGS WILL SLUG IT OUT WITH CHICAGO'S RECORD MOVING TO THREE AND THREE WHILE THE REDSKINS' JOURNEY TO WISCONSIN WILL LEAVE THEM FRUSTRATED AS CAN BE Carl "Gator" Nelson Packers 'verses' Vikings: A Poetic Perspective www.PackersversesVikings.com |
