DON's week 7 picks
THE DON'S Crystal Ball WEEK 7 PICKS By DonCanabis CP Analyst/Godfather Well, we lost, but no one really thought we would go out and finish 16-0, right? Even though I thought it would be closer, and for three quarters it was, it ended up being a massacre. How about my upset special, N.O over Seattle? How about them apples? Man, what about all these QBs dropping like flies? If this keeps up, be sure we'll see more rule changes to protect the ladies...in five years, you will see the QBs playing with red jerseys. On with the picks... Atlanta at New Orleans -8 Ovr/Und 42.5 They win one game, and now they're an eight-point favorite? Vegas is trying to trick you guys into picking Atlanta because of the spread—don't fall into that trap. New Orleans isn't great, but Atlanta is worse, and with Leftwich at QB, they still don't stand a chance. Take the home team. Straight: New Orleans Spread: New Orleans Ovr/Und: Under Tampa Bay at Detroit -2 Ovr/Und 44.5 The accurate QB vs. the air-it-out one?? Detroit comes rested and CJ is scheduled to play, but Detroit's problem isn't on offense but on defense. So the questions are: can Tampa hold the potent offense, and can its offense hold up if it becomes a shootout? I think so. Straight: Tampa Bay ]Spread: Tampa Bay Ovr/Und: Over Tennessee at Houston +1.5 Ovr/Und 38.5 Vince Young won't be 100%, and if he can't move, he loses 80% of his talent. Schaub is almost getting his whole offense back, which will make this team a lot better. Expect a low-scoring game, a true game of defenses with the home team taking the game. Straight: Houston Spread: Houston Ovr/Und: Under New England at Miami +16.5 Ovr/Und 51.5 Miami usually plays tough against Brady...they've somehow got his number, but that was a Miami team with some confidence and pride. There's nothing left of that in this team. J.Taylor shouldn't have come back from retirement—it's just too painful to watch. Straight: New England Spread: New England Ovr/Und: Over San Francisco at New York Giants -9 Ovr/Und 39.5 Smith might play, but who cares? They'll still lose...Eli is looking better, but he still continues to make mistakes, and they would have lost the game against a better team Monday. New York will take the W, but San Francisco's defense will keep it close. Straight: New York Giants Spread: New York Giants Ovr/Und: Under Arizona at Washington -8 Ovr/Und 36 Talk about a season going to the shitter faster than diarrhea...and with the fifth pick of the draft Arizona takes.... Washington is a very good team—a lot better than I expected. They just need to learn how to win close games; both of their losses have come on games they should have won. Straight: Washington Spread: Washington Ovr/Und: Over Baltimore at Buffalo +3 Ovr/Und 35 The Bills had their best news of the season this week: J.P. Losman will keep the bench warm. This kid played two more years than he had to. Baltimore's defense is looking good. I would have taken Buffalo after the heart they showed against the Cowboys, but I believe it hurt them too much to recover this week. Straight: Baltimore Spread: Baltimore Ovr/Und: Under New York Jets at Cincinnati -6 Ovr/Und 47 Talk about a bad game...I thought last week would have been Chad's last game as a starter. I guess I missed it by a week. Straight: Cincinnati Spread: New York Jets Ovr/Und: Under Kansas City at Oakland -3 Ovr/Und 37.5 Kansas City is starting to come along and is getting their groove back. Daunte is starting to look like last year instead of three years ago. Straight: Kansas City Spread: Kansas City Ovr/Und: Over St. Louis at Seattle -8.5 Ovr/Und 39.5 UPSET OF THE WEEK For two weeks in a row, Seattle will be in charge of giving the first win of the year to two teams, that's how huge is the loss of Strong to this team. Straight: St. Louis Spread: St. Louis Ovr/Und: Over Chicago at Philadelphia -5.5 Ovr/Und 41.5 UPSET OF THE WEEK II Philadelphia just didn't show up enough against a bad Jets team. Chicago will be all over McNabb all day. Straight: Chicago Spread: Chicago Ovr/Und: Over Minnesota at Dallas -9.5 Ovr/Und 46 Coming after a tough loss and everyone doubting how good they are will be enough fuel to give A.P. his first welcoming party to the NFL. This is the first time the secondary won't be the reason Dallas doesn't win, because Minnesota just can't pass. Straight: Dallas Spread: Dallas Ovr/Und: Over Pittsburgh at Denver +3.5 Ovr/Und 39 Winning in Mile-High Stadium is hard, but playing without your best two players is even harder. Take Pittsburgh. Straight: Pittsburgh Spread: Pittsburgh Ovr/Und: Under Indianapolis at Jacksonville +3 Ovr/Und 45 These are usually close, low-scoring matches; don't expect otherwise. This is a good game to close the week—I wouldn't be surprised if Jacksonville takes it, especially with the way Maurice is playing. Straight: Indianapolis Spread: Indianapolis Ovr/Und: Under Hot Picks New Orleans Tampa Bay Houston Washington Dallas Dallas (Over) I can't seem to crack 59%—weird season... And if it turns out any other way, I'll deny I said this! |

Re: DON's week 7 picks
Don - 59% against the spread is pretty damn solid. The boys in Vegas lose money to guys like you.
