Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Redskins control the clock, establish the running game, and force turnovers on defense.

All this cool aid that's being passed, I've got to get me some...

Redskins 21 Patriots 20

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

I think the Skins defense will keep it close through halftime, and within striking distance of the offense.

But too many 3 and out's will keep the Skins "D" on the field way too long and they will tire down the stretch, allowing the Patriots to pull away.

Patriots - 32
Redskins - 13

Belichick has shown in more than one game that he will run up the score late in the 4th quarter. Anything less than a 14 point lead and he will drive down the field and not sit on the ball. He has become the king of the ef-you touchdowns. Ala Miami and Dallas

We'll hold them under 30. Whether our WRs show up or not could determine how many we score.

this will propel us up to about the 5th spot, the league will be shocked and this game will be talked about alway to the superbowl, with this win, we will finish the season tied with Giants 11-5, and Dallas will be a wildcard, Jason Campbell will put together some great 3rd Down drives...... we will trail until the 4th until we start to get the breaks we missed against the packs and giants......our running game will be better than soild, with Ben Watson out and no Sammy Morris aling.....we will come up big on D... this will probably cost us a big player on defense (injury for 3 weeks), but for this to work, we need Marcus Washington and Casey Rabach

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

I really like how our D matches up against the Pats on many levels, but unfortunately our O doesn't match well with their D. We will have too many 3 and outs to compete and the Pats will eventually pull away late 3rd qtr with 2 second half td's.

Pats 34
Skins 14

PROVE ME WRONG SKINS!!!!!! PROVE ME WRONG.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

I just want to say that even with a loss this season is far from over with. We should be able to bounce back the following week against the Jets and we'll be sitting at 5-3.

I still see 10 wins as being very achievable, that would only require us to go 6-4 the rest of the way including this weekend.

So let's not get too crazy and slit our wrists with the world is ending threads after this game, alright?

We;re gonna hear it no matter what. If we lose big; Gibbs didn't have us prepared enough. If we lose by a little; it was bad play calling.

If we win by a little; then we let them off the hook. If we, god forbid, win by a lot; then it was because the Pats laid down and overlooked us.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

No reason we can't win 11 regardless of the outcome of this game.

I had the Jets game marked down as a loss at the beginning of the season. Well...the Jets' D sucks, and Kellen Clemens very well could get his second start against us. I think we will win that one now.

I had the Philly game marked down as a loss at the beginning of the year. They can't really throw the ball. I think we will win that one now.

I had the Giants game in week 15 marked down as a loss. Well, that team is peaking right now, and could be had in the meadowlands in December.

This was supposed to be the hardest part of our schedule right here and the next three games don't really look to be all that challenging. Now the hardest part of out schedule seems to be having Dallas and Tampa on the road back to back.

And if we can win ONE of those, we are on pace for 11.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Someone mentioned the Redskins defying reality. History is best qualified to give the answer to my prediction. The Redskins have upset team after team after team when they are clearly the underdogs. The Cowboys,Saints, Panthers and Jaguars last year. Eagles and Lions this year. This game against the Patriots will be culmination of what can happen when a solid defense and efficient offense meet a "can do no wrong" Superbowl favorite. This game makes for a photo finish that only Ali vs. Frazier can compare. Skins 31, Patriots 17 and I'm putting my money behind my team.

Pats 31
Skins 17.

Even though that seems like a lot, we'll still be covering the spread.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Something has to give. Either the Patriots offense lets down and can't score, or the Skins defense lets down and the flood gates open. We all know the Skins have the 3rd ranked Defense in the NFL, but the Pats are sitting pretty at 10. Their offense is the best in the NFL right now. However, the wild card in all of this is the Skins offense. We know they are capable of moving the ball very well (Lions game), but they are also capable of crapping the bed (Cards game).

If Saunders can get the offense to perform on all cylinders, they have a fighting chance. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to click all at once this week.

Patriots 31
Redskins 12

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Game remains close, 20-13 Pats, into the fourth quarter. Pats score another TD mid-way in the 4th to go up two scores. Skins offense is unable to mount any response. The only way the Skins will win the game, I think, is if they sell out to get to Brady (and are actually able to get there). If the Skins hang back in coverage as they have the past couple of weeks I think Welker and Watson will expose the middle of the defense. Until the o-line gets right I just can't see the offense doing a whole lot against any good defense.

My real hope is that the Skins find a way to win and everyone who said they would becomes completely annoying starting multiple threads about how they knew this would happen all along, etc. If they lose and the offense struggles again I think it could get pretty brutal in here.
