I'll go there.

O.K,
Watching the S. Moss interview yesterday on Comcast caused some though in my little brain. He was saying that the coaching staff knows what the offense is capable of, and when they are in a pinch they don't call the plays they know are going to work.
Al is in his second year with us now, and people could wonder if he's the problem. Yes he was successful elsewhere, but so was so many of the players we have signed to this roster. Is the 700 page play book too much? Could that be why we are hearing that Gibbs is also calling the offensive plays?
Watching the New England game yesterday I heard the announcer say that they are "taking yards that are given to them". I don't know how many times I wanted to break something because Brady was dropping the ball to the HB for 7-10 yards at a time. If you are good with stats please look that up, because I would like to know how many passes were completed to the HB for NE.
Maybe we should start from scratch again. I know everyone is wanting to air it out but we can't protect long enough to let a receiver get down the field. I know we have had success in the pass with screen plays to the WR/HB, but they aren't producing. I know the Randle El has thrown TD passes before, but he isn't now.
Get back to basics means running the ball between the tackles, but we can't do that either. We need to start completing the small 5yd passes, and running behind the players on the line that aren't injured (Left Side). The way we have played in pass 3 weeks is starting to get me thinking that this is going to be a very, very long season.

9 times for 94 yards, or 10.5 yards a completion.

That would be the definition of getting killed by a play. And that is pretty much how you have to beat the Washington Redskins defense.

29 teams in the league don't have the patience to do that though. We did a year ago, but the fans didn't like that. So now we have this years offense which ranks 25. Yay for mutiny!

Re: I'll go there.

The bozos doing the pregame on Redskins Radio (yes, I went there) mentioned the offense being overcoached, that G-Dub has the defense fighting while the offense is sputtering. From the looks yesterday, that could very well be possible.

The tone Gibbs has set (Conservative, run first, no mistakes), and Saunders is following isn't going to cut it. Is it the team is so afraid to make mistakes, or is it the coaches aren't allowing their team to fulfill their potential?

Next week, against the hapless Jets, is going to be the catalyst. If the team doesn't open up the offense against the 29th Total Defense, they never will, and us fans can go ahead and hang it up.

Please... The Patriots ran the underneath stuff because they had to against Washington's defense, and they executed it perfectly. They also score about 42 points per game. If Washington was anywhere in the ballpark of even 30 points per game, there would've been very few complaints about Brunell's constant checkdowns.

Re: I'll go there.

Locking this thread.

FYI. The mods will keep locking threads as long as we have people who don't know how to write proper thread titles. "I'll Go There" What the hell is that?

You want it unlocked, PM me with a real title. (By the way, I think the thread is stupid anyway, because it's not like this same crap isn't discussed each and every week, win or lose.)

Re: I'll go there.

Thank you SS.

There have been far too many threads lately severely lacking in quality and substance.

This stuff is message board 101 folks.

1) Look at the first page of posts to make sure your topic isn't already being discussed. If you post a duplicate thread it's probably going to get locked really quick, and don't whine if the person that locks it doesn't point out the URL of the original thread, it's not our job to do your homework for you.

2) Second, create a thread with a clear and concise title.

3) Put some quality and substance into your post.
