And no way Man-gina is on the phone with Belicheat about anything unless it is a verbal confrontation. The two put on painted smiles for the media, but in reality despise one-another immensely. Belicheat feels Man-gina betrayed him by going to a division rival at the Jets, and Man-gina is the guy who reported Belicheat for the infamous "spy-cameras".

The Jets have benched Pennington in favor of Clemmons. Not because Clemmons is the savior and will deliver them to the playoffs. At 1-7, the Jets have already conceded thier season and are putting thier new young QB in for the rest of the year to get him "game time" expeirence for the rest of the season. The Pennington era is over in New York, Clemmons is thier QB of the future and the job is his to lose for the next several seasons.

With that in mind, the Redskins defense should be able to feast easily on the Jets offense. Greg Williams is going to bring the house all day long and force the inexperienced QB into rash and devestating mistakes.

The offense just needs to take care of the ball and make sustained drives. I think that Cooley is what will spark the offense and they need to get the ball in his hands early and often. To be honest, he has been, to this point, the most reliable receiver on the team, and him catching and getting yards after the catch will help Campbells confidence tremendously.

But IF the Redskins falter against the Jets, then one would be hard pressed not to concede that this team is not who they thought, or advertised themselves to be.

Redskins win big this time:

Wash - 28
Jets - 9
Agreed. I would just add that, as I've stated earlier this week, it's really time to make McCardell a big part of this offense. I think he can take some off the pressure off the other receivers and maybe free things up for them to make plays.

I bet that sweatshirt wearing slob isnt gonna be talkin' to Mangini anytime soon... they hate each other... Bill-a-cheat hated him for leaving the team now that they got busted for cheating the week they played the J-E-T-S ... hmm Mangini have anything to do with that?!?!? hmmm

Skins - 34
Jets - 14

We own ball possession and pick Clemens 3 times ... put in backups after 3rd to show the Pats how to be classy ...

I don't think that's necessarily true. Don't get me wrong, we'll definately be in serious trouble and losing to the Jets would be a huge confidence-killer. But, supposing we go to 4-4, we will need to win 5 of the remaining 8 games and, IMO, that will be tough but doable against the remaining teams on the schedule.

Well if we don't Gibbs will be on a hot seat like he's never known! And rightly so.

Re: Can we beat the Jets?

I hate to use this phrase...but this has the makings of a must win...as someone else said the wheels will offically come off this season if we dont come out fired up and win. This is the nfl as the old cliche goes...any given sunday. skins 28 jets 10. With our defense scoring at least one td.

How is Dale City the heart of panther country?
I live in Carolina, and this place still has recent memories of being Skins territory. There are lots of Skins fans here that watch the panthers and vice versa. Both sets of fans are usually ok with each other, especially due to Stephen Davis long ago and very similar styles of football.

I agree SS. But, given that this thread has gained some traction and is more appropriately titled, I'll respond. Can we beat the Jets? Of course. Will we beat the Jets? Per our latest efforts, I wouldn't bet the ranch on it. Must we beat the Jets? Hell yes! After the thumping we just recv'd, I can't imagine the 'Skins not coming out ready to tear someone a new a**hole. And, contrary to Pete Kendall's most recent comments, I believe he will be especially motivated to pound some heads Sunday. I think the Redskins will pull the trigger on this one.
