Just like Vick copped a plea, so I guess HE's not guilty either? Yes Johnson just got out of trouble. But show me another team in the NFL that has an entire department dedicated to assisting players with off-field issues? Answer NONE, just the Cowboys. When the Bengals organization had all those troubles with the law, Jerry Jones was the only owner in the league who was proactive enough to create a department within the organization dedicated to assisting players with off-field issues no matter how minor. |

I still remember how you were so adamant that Tank would "never" be a Cowboy.

But at the time, Fergusen was gone for the year, and there was no good market for a free agent DT/NT. The Cowboys simply signed the best player available at that position at the time. Besides, Johnson signed a deal similiar to that of Owens, in that, it is really a series of "one-year" contracts meaning that is he screws up we can release him without cap ramifications. So nothing to lose and everything to gain from the organization standpoint. |

Plenty of teams have someone/department to help players with off-field issues. For the Redskins John Jefferson (the former Chargers WR) oversees this deparment, it's called Player Development

Take a player like Tank Johnson and place him in an organization that has these resources available to him and he is programmed for success. You figure that if he cannot succeed in these organizations, he is not going to succeed anywhere in the NFL. |

Re: The Cowboys Activate Tank J.
All I know is that the Bears Defense isn't as good this year as they were last year, and the only differences in the personnel is the subtraction of Tank Johnson and the addition of Archeletta. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tank must have been more important than some people may believe.
