highlights and lowlights so far
like every season, your expectations are constantly changing. Who do you think is the biggest sruprise from our expectatioins, that we thought wouldn't be as good? What about the biggest bust?
You have to think moss is the bust. I dont know about who for the other side though

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
Randle El, he really stepped up his game this season, too bad for the injuries but overall I'm really pleased with him, as for busts I would have to say Brandon Lloyd, I thought this would be his year but so far nothing even close to that, I'm still hoping they will try and throw the ball to him more.

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
Rocky Macintosh... and i know that some guys on here swore up and down about him but i personally had my doubts. when Lemar got cut i kept saying to myself "this dude better be the real deal" turns out he was and is. so for me personally i would say Rocky.
Im also suprised at how well our kickers have done. Frost believe it or not has turned out to be a very good punter for us. suisham has kicked clutch kick after clutch kick (aside from that PAT last week). Ummmm who else, oh, i also like Kendell, think hes turned out to be good as well. Mixed emotions about Campbell (im gonna get slaughtered) but oh well. |

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
I thought signing London Fletcher was the wrong move to make...and I was wrong. Thankfully
Fred Smoot has been a huge disappointment. I didn't expect him to set the world on fire. I think he's a #2 CB/Nickel who can provide depth and a spark to the team. But he's brought basically nothing to the team so far.

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
Highpoints:
-At this point in the season, I'd say the o-line has been fairly impressive considering losing 40%; 60% if you count Dockery from last year. -The front four haven't been the liability that I thought they would be. Not spectacular, but also not disgraceful. -Sean Taylor, before injury, was a ball-hawking fiend that I didn't expect. -Laron Landry has played like a veteran, something I never expect any rookie regardless of draft position. -Todd Yoder has played very admirable. I didn't think much of him at all before the season started. Now when his number is called, I pay a little more attention. Lowpoints: -Goalline scoring.... -Mike Sellers. I love him. I really do, but I've seen more bad plays by him than I wanted to all season. -Early season Clinton Portis; starting to sway that with the last two games. -....meh, I hate talking about lowpoints...

Great: Rocky, Landry, Sellers & Campbell
Disappointments: Betts (hasn't made a big impact since his new contract like hoped) Bust: Lloyd |

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
I think the biggest surprise from most people's expectations is that this team is only mediocre. The D cant hold a lead, the O is still struggling, and the coaching staff still cant manage the clock or adjust at halftime. Three years into Gibbs 2.0 I think most expected this stuff to be ironed out and the team would be fine tuning at this point.
Busts: Smoot & LLoyd. Both should never have been brought here. Great: Fletcher. The guy has been a beast. |

I agree about Fletcher, with an assist to Montgomery developing better than expected as a run stuffing DT. |

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
I'm surprised that some people are so down on Smoot. Yeah he's been nicked up but when he's been on the field he's been pretty solid.

I guess I was hoping he'd be on the field more

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
How can he be an upgrade, let alone a huge upgrade, when he barely plays?

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
He has been while solid when healthy. I didn't really want us to cut Walt Harris last year he started off pretty strong this year.

Re: highlights and lowlights so far
Smoot has played well when he's been out there. What has he missed, 3 games? I would take a semi-healthy Smoot over the stiffs we had for CB depth last season. And yes, I call that a huge upgrade.
