UK NFL tv coverage compared to USA
I was just looking at NFL TV Distribution Maps thread and as im from the UK thought i would post how our coverage compared to the USA.
In the UK,if you have just have the old fashioned aerial on the roof and no cable or satelliteyou get the Sunday night late game live and the Monday night game live each week + a 1hour highlights show once a week. Not sure what they do for the playoffs and Superbowl because i dont watch aerial coverage. If you have cable or satellite tv then i think we do quite well. We get.. 1)..NFL draft live 2)..5 or 6 pre-season games live. When the regular season starts we get all the following games LIVE. 3)..A choice between 2 of the 1pm ET games each week. 4)..A choice between 2 of the 4.15pm ET games each week. 5)..The late Sunday game each week. 6)..All the Monday night games. 7)..All Thanksgiving day games 8)..All Thursday night games. 9)..All Saturday night games in December. 10)..All playoff games,Superbowl and Pro-bowl. When you also add..NFL total access, Americas game, who is?..a weekly show addressing topical issues in the game NFL Top 10 - an irreverent look at the NFL by debating top ten lists for different subjects and a 1hour hightlights show. I think we do well in the UK, but i am interested in what you guys think of our coverage? |

Not bad. About the same as most "aerial" coverage in the U.S. I'd probably like to check out the NFL Top 10...

Honestly, you guys have it a lot better than I would have thought. I actually think you might get to see more games than me a week because I only get 1 4:15 game.

Re: UK NFL tv coverage compared to USA
It's because of the zoneing. I for instance, live in Florida so I'm pretty much guranteed at least 2 of the 3 between the Jaguars, Bucs, and Dolphins games. Since they are all eastern teams they usually play at 1:00 pm est. I usually get two 1:00 games, one 4:15 game, the 8:30 night game and of course MNF and Thursday and Saturday games through the NFL Network (which I pay extra for). If two of those teams play at 4:15 instead of at 1:00, then I would get one 1:00 game and two 4:15 games.
As for me, I always have to go to the bar to watch my beloved skins.. |
