NFL Network

Surprised I haven't seen this tread yet. But is anyone else glad to see B. Gumbel not calling tonight. I don't know the name of the guy but I think he is from NBC sports but is much better than Gumbel. I have managed not to fall asleep yet watching the game. Hopefully the network will notice the difference and keep Gumbel on sick leave.

Re: NFL Network

Hammond is a HUGE improvement over Gumble. He can actually talk football.

The NFL Network is the only network that shows The National Anthem..... I love that... and I really like the pregame and post game coverage too.....

Re: NFL Network

I have learned to tune-out Gumbel quite well cause I really never hear him. Seriously, he is really bad and sucks the energy out of the game. You're really better off putting the tv on mute.

Re: NFL Network

I thought the guy last night was just as boring as Gumble. I actuall thought it was Gumble at first and the only real difference is that he did not get mixed up as to what team he was talking about. I love the pregame stuff and realy think that the NFL Network does a good job up until we get to the announcers. My cousin with fox Tommy Brinneman (spelling) does a better job but he only does a few games a year for fox. He is manly baseball.

Really?

I thought Hammond was a big improvement, but that speaks more to how bad Gumble is.

At least Hammond wasn't messing up players' names and forgetting who plays for what team. You know, the basics of announcing a game.

It was his mono tone I guess which reminded me of Gumble and yes he did do a better job with the names and stuff. I wonder if the NFL Netwok trying to do the opposite of ESPN and trying to make it about the game and not the personalities of the announcers or the 5,000 people ESPN interviews through out the game?

Re: NFL Network

I guess I just didn't think Hammond was monotone at all. But again, when compared to Gumble he sounded like Al Michaels to me.

Re: NFL Network

I just can't stand hearing Gumble's stupid voice. Anything is an improvement over that.
