Figuring out coach Williams?
I don't get it, for the first 2 years we blitzed and schemed blitzes from every angle, while jamming the WR's, all of last season and most of this season he didn't, all of a sudden we are attacking again and shutting people down, the question is what has triggered this sudden aggression, and why did he back off the pressure to begin with? I am curious if he maybe relied on Taylor to much? Or maybe he just fell into a coaching slump and got away from what made him the great defensive mind that he had been?

Re: Figuring out coach Williams?
It's all about match up!
If you blitz favre and don't get to him, He is going to kill you every time. If you blitz Tavaris Jackson and get remotely close, He will start throwing the ball to you. You also have to consider the talent level at WR. The Viking WR's aren't that talented. Troy Williamson is as talented as any WR in the league but he runs shitty routes and doesn't grasp what he is trying to do out there. Bobby Wade is just a shifty James Thrash type guy. Our corners matched up very well with them. The same goes for the eagles. But when we play a team with a solid QB and WR's that can't be jammed at the line of scrimmage, we have to play cover 2. |

Yep, all depends on who we are playing. He really goes after the young, inexperienced QBs and lays off the good ones.

with TO out, it will be interesting to see how much heat GW brings to Romo/Johnson. We got burned in the first game when we blitzed, but since then Landry has moved to FS & it seems to work. GW has a lot of confidence in him & puts him back there alone.
I expect GW to blitz some but not on most passing downs. |

Tight Ends play a factor also. Jason Witten down the seam could really kill us if we become over agressive..I definately hope to see GW dial up some blitzes early though just to try and set the tone.

Well with the Vikes if we shut down the run we would win and their young QB would be forced to throw and make mistakes. I don't think that plan was rocket science.
