Re: Is Gibbs Getting His Mojo Back?

I think that Gibbs is the same as he ever was. It's the players who have found their Mojo baby.

No, I don't have a problem with it. I love Joe too. Just not as much as you do.

Do you understand why? A small lesson in history, before Gibbs arrived the Redskins were a respectable team without a modern day championship. After Gibbs arrived he made this team a winner, made it possible for people to create websites like this were we can cheer our teams on despite our differences. When Gibbs retired we sucked till he came back and the rest you know.

So Gibbs made the team a winner all by himself? There are alot of assistant coaches and former GM's that had ALOT to do with the 3 SB victories. Not to mention JKC who would always pay more $ to guys like Doug Williams sit on the bench. But people always seem to forget that.

One of the reasons the team went downhill after he left is that the team was old and Gibbs hung on to some veterans a little too long.

Gibbs certainly does not deserve all the credit for how the team is playing, he is just one of many reasons why they are playing well. However, I do not quite understand how, when we were losing, so many said Gibbs was the culprit and those very same people are now trying to minimize Gibbs' role in our on-field production. (That last statement is not directed at you skinsfan69 or anyone in particular).

Re: Is Gibbs Getting His Mojo Back?

Gibbs has always accepted the blame when he makes a mistake and gives it up to the players when we win, that kind of accountability wins players over. I like the way they are winning games, but the formula under Collins is different than the formula under Campbell. It could be a factor of Campbell's inexperience and the lack of trust the coaching staff has in him, but maybe not. Collins trusts the offense more because he's been in it longer, Campbell will get there.

Beemnseven pointed out that Campbell has 19 turnovers and it sounds significant, but is it really? Well yes, when you play conservative football. But if we didn't play it so tight to the vest, if our playmakers played up to their signing bonuses then it wouldn't matter at all. Our tight end is leading the team in catches and td catches, which would be cool but even his numbers are below what they could be. Romo has 18 picks, Peyton has 14, so while Campbell's picks aren't stellar they aren't out of line, especially for a young qb.

No question he takes too much blame when we don't win. But some of it is warrented and some of it is not. The conservative run out the clock nature of the offense is on him and it has costed us some games. But the blown TO against Buffalo was just silly. That was on the defense for giving up a 30 yard pass play to let Buffalo's offense get in FG position. No one ever talks about that. But hey.. I'm glad they've turned it around and Gibbs has done a great job of keeping things together when everything could've went the other way.
