Because as far as I can tell, there is not a measurable difference between a player's regular season numbers and his playoff numbers.

Historically, quarterback production tends to be down a bit in the playoffs, because the defense quality is so much better. However, there isn't a single case of a guy who consistently got his team to the playoffs and consistently delievered rough performances to the point where you could say it was a trend.

Peyton is the most famous example, but he has 3 playoff games with a QB rating over 135. He's got the same number of games under 60, but that's to be expected if you are playing great defenses every week.

The definition of a choke artist is a guy who lacks the ability to perform in the big game: that is to say that he will NEVER play well in a playoff game at any point in his career (because he lacked the ability to do so, not because he just happened not to), and that's a pretty tall claim.

I say 99.9% on Romo, because if a choke artist truly existed in football, he would be the very first.
