Time for Parcells to pick the boys apart

Now that the boys lost so early in the playoffs, Parcells can now work his magic on picking their coaching staff apart. Hopefully that puts a debilitating blow on their team's foundation.

I hope to hear some vulture picking as early as Monday.

Thats an interesting thought. I agree it would be nice to see Parcells steal some of the talent from the Cowboys.

Not sure this deserved its own thread though.

The biggest one of all will be Tony Sparano, their O-line coach. From what I hear he's Parcell's first choice to be the head man in Miami. Apparently they share the same ideals/coaching styles. I doubt Jerry Jones will let Jason Garret go. Hell, Garret may get the head coaching job in Dallas sooner than we think.

I'd like to see a list of the Cowboys' free agents. Anyone?

Every time I get happy at a coaching change in Dallas, it always seems to come back to bite me in the (beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!) We all thought Wade Phillips meant two easy wins for us this year. We were wrong. It only meant one easy win for us...LOL!

Mike Tice is scheduled to interview tomorrow for the Dolphins job. But I expect it will be Sparano's job. And he'll take Todd Bowles with him to be his DC

Dallas Morning News says the Ravens are targeting Garrett.

The Dallas Morning News | Dallas Cowboys/NFL news

Kind of a curious way to refer to Parcells, seemed like a bit of a slap

I'm serious, Jerry Jones better act quick and whack Wade to make it look like a knee jerk reaction.

If he waits too long, the best coach on his staff (Garrett) is going to end up somewhere else.

You know whats funny about this article is the comment board below it. There are Dallas fans just giving the heart to heart on how bad their team sucked it this year in the postseason. There is so much bitterness when you read it. Damn that feels so good! They are just ripping their own team apart.

That comment board is like Chicken Soup for the Redskins Soul. Recommended reading for Redskins fans.

I think Garrett would be a real good fit in Baltimore.

I had never actually seen what Sparano looked like before that game. Is it just me or did he look like an extra from the Sopranos with those reddish glasses on?

Re: Time for Parcells to pick the boys apart

I think there's going to be alot of GMs and owners falling off of Garrett's jock. I thought his playcalling sucked in the second half. They completely got away from the successful running game they had in the first half and got really predictable. When a team has a pass rush like the giants do and you basically put up a flashing neon sign that says "we're passing on every down" you're asking to get sacked. I think Garrett loses a little luster from that one...

Re: Time for Parcells to pick the boys apart

Bleed Burgandy:

While I basically agree with you that Jason Garrett has been praised to the heavens without actually accomplishing much of anything, I just don't see how he was the problem with yesterday's loss to the Giants.

When the Cowboys tried to run the ball in the second half, nothing happened. I didn't notice any huge adjustment in the Giants' defense in the third quarter, so maybe Marion Barber ran out of gas??? Remember, he wasn't a feature back all year long. Or maybe the Cowboys hugely over-rated offensive line just played to their real capabilities instead of the inflated ones that the national media have hung on them???

And it wasn't Garrett's play call that made Tony Romo take that 15-yard sack in the fourth quarter even though he had rolled out of the pocket and could have just thrown the ball into Row 5.

I would not hire Jason Garrett as a head coach just yet. Some day, he may be the next Bill Walsh; anything is possible. But if I were throwing around my own money to hire a head coach in Jan 2008, he'd be way down on my list of interviewees.
