Favre vs Brady.. One for the ages?
Just wondering your guys thoughts. I am pretty excited to see if these too QB legends could meet up for the big one. Tom Brady one of best QBs in my opinion in the past 6 years gearing up against one of the greatest of all times Brett Favre. I think it be pretty sweet. We'll see what the football gods do this weekend.

It'd be the most compelling matchup for sure. I find the Packers really hard to root against. I'm definitely rooting for them

Re: Favre vs Brady.. One for the ages?
Still way too early to tell cause you never know if the Chargers beat the Patriots....LOL I hope it ends up Brady vs. Favre and I hope Favre can win one more. Tom Brady still has next year to win more while Favre is near the end.... Beating the best team in history in the SB would be a perfect ending to a great career for Favre.:thumb: But still no gaurantee either team makes it to the SB well the Patriots might have it a lil easier but anything can happen any given Sunday....

What if Arnold Swarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone teamed up in an action film. Like they tried to do in Demolition Man and Twins.

Re: Favre vs Brady.. One for the ages?
I should have known better than to think I could post a nice piece on the Packers in a thread about the possibility of the Packers making/winning the Super Bowl without it turning into a shit on the Skins thread.
So I've moved the story to the News Wire and deleting it from here and all subsequent related posts.

Shouldn't this thread have been started IF the Packs and Pats make it to the big game?

Just my 2 cents. I think you have it in reverse in regards to the QB's. As much as people do not like Tom Brady here on TWP, in just his 8th year has won three Superbowls and just finished only the second perfect regular season in the history of the NFL. The 2008 season alone regardless of how many SB rings Brady has when he retires, will get him in the HOF. In 2008 statistically Brady had one of the best season of all time of any NFL QB. I think saying he is one of the best in the last six years is downplayng his accomplishments. I respect Farve alot and IMO he is a top 8-10 Qb of all time in the NFL. I am not trying to discredit him, he has one SB win and lost one SB. However Mike Homgren his coach during Farve's SB season has already been back to the SB with Seattle, but Farve has not. Farve has played for a LONG TIME (18 years), most of his records are longevity records, for example he broke the most pass attemtps record before he broke most of the other records. Farve is an incredible QB and one my favorites. I have a ton of respet for him. I do not want to sound like I am putting him down. I just think the 33rd pick in the 6th round (Brady) in just his 8th season has accomplished more that the 1st rounder Farve in 17 years. Just my opinion. |

Re: Favre vs Brady.. One for the ages?
Well, while Brady is good and on his way to the Hall, he is no way a "legend" right now. Favre is though.
I am REALLY pulling for Favre to ride off into the sunset after winning this super bowl. That would be an amazing ending to an amazing career.

Re: Favre vs Brady.. One for the ages?
I agree Brady is on his way to the Hall easily but is he a "legend" yet? Guess you can take it different ways. But I'm definetly rooting for Brett, let him end his great time in the game with another SB win.
