Four years ago, I would have easily said Fassel (of course that was before any of us had any idea about Gibbs). Now I'm not as sure. I think he's a very underrated head coach and has done some really good things as a coordinator, but a.) I really hope he's not a stopgap measure until Snyder gets the guy he wants (Cowher in 2009) and b.) well there is no b, just something about it doesn't feel quite right.

I have that same feeling...I really didn't want Mora, and I would have been mad. I think with Fassel I get more of a sick feeling, like we're trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. I almost get the idea that Snyder is overthinking this...like I said in another thread, he'll get a free pass if he hires Williams and fails. If he goes and picks someone outside the organization and we go something like 5-11 or 6-10...people will not be as forgiving
