No offense, but I have never quite understood the logic that a 1st round pick in the current year's draft should be worth less than a 1st round pick in the next year's draft. That short-term focus can get you into trouble.
As for Deion Branch, he was entering "his prime" when he was traded to Seattle whereas Chad Johnson will turn 30 next season. Chad likely has 2 or so years of dominant play followed by a few years of rapid decline. I'd like to have a great #1 WR, but not a 30 year old malcontent who wants booku bucks.
But, as noted earlier, this story rises only slightly above rumor and with any luck that's all it will ever be. Ahhhhh the offseason.
