Re: The reason GW DIDNT want the job
This wouldn't surprise me in the least, but its also possible that GW was feeling stagnated here by the way players were being acquired too.

Re: The reason GW DIDNT want the job
So your saying all those D players we have signed over the past couple of years for GW was Snyders mistake. Thats the biggest BS I've heard yet. Keep trying to find something better than that. Do I need to name the players we have aquired for him. Maybe name some of the players that maybe we let go because of him. Can you spell Pierce and we can just plug another player into his spot.

Re: The reason GW DIDNT want the job
It's rather difficult to imagine a man would interview four times for a job he didn't want. Not saying it didn't happen, just hard to imagine.
I was in great hopes that during to course of at least one of the post Zorn hire interviews with Snyder, he would actually tell us why Williams did not get the job. Kelly Johnson interviewed Snyder on ComcastSportsNet two days after Zorn was hired, she asked him about Williams, and why he was not considered, Mr Snyder carefully evaded the question. So I guess we may never know why Gregg was by-passed. However, Mr Snyder did go on to say Jim Zorn was the only candidate interviewed to cactually be offered the job. |

Re: The reason GW DIDNT want the job
The continuity view with Williams is complete nostalgia. Only remembering the good, like swearing never to forget Sean Taylor and starting to blitz again after the wake up call following ST's death. Remember, it was the defense that completely disappeared in the second half of the first game against the Giants. W/out that turn around win the Giants are not in the SB. Second half losses were a norm under Williams D. Sure ASaunders O had a large responsibility there, but it was the guys on D who ultimately gave up the TDs.

I looked it up if our O would have scored 20 points in three of our games we would have won those three games making us 12 and 4. |

Re: The reason GW DIDNT want the job
There's only two people [three if you chose to count Gibbs] who know the real reason why Williams was not chosen to be Gibbs' successor. We've heard all types of wild speculation, but that's just what it is "speculation"
Never heard from Gibbs' lips that he actually endorsed, or recommended to Snyder that Williams was the chosen one. Therefore, only Snyder/Cerrato know the true answer. The question has been put to them both in search of an answer, they both carefully avoided a defenitive answer. Hence, I've come to the conclusion it is a question we may NEVER know the real answer too.
