Exactly, that's why he's brought in as depth to play that position once Rogers returns.. Follow me here, if Rogers is out, Springs & Smoot start, Florence is the nickel/backup CB.. Once Rogers returns, Springs and Rogers start, Smoot is the nickel, Florence is the dime.. Rogers isn't trying to recover from an amputation, it's a severe knee injury, he's back by Halloween.. We'll still have half a season left at that point.

If we trade for D. Hall, do we cut Springs or does Smoot become the dime once Rogers returns?
