Jets | Team close to sending Vilma to New Orleans?

Tom Rock, of Newsday, reports the New York Jets are close to sending LB Jonathan Vilma to the New Orleans Saints, according to two sources. The Jets will receive a conditional draft pick, likely in the 2009 NFL Draft, based on Vilma's production, according to a league source.

Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots RB Kevin Faulk has passed a drug test and will not need to enter the NFL's substance abuse program, according to The Daily Advertiser. Faulk told the newspaper he spoke with head coach Bill Belichick and immediately submitted to a drug test, which was taken Monday, Feb. 25.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers DT Corey Williams will reportedly be traded to the Cleveland Browns, according to the Washington Post. The trade is expected to become official Friday, Feb. 29. The NFL Network is reporting the Packers will receive a second-round draft pick from Cleveland.
