Re: BMW 1 series
I think I have reversed my thinking, cause this car caught my eye more so than any car in recent years:
Audi of America > See All Models > Audi A5/S5 MSRP comes to a lofty 48k after it's fully loaded (manual of course, and in deep blue sea pearl), but after my trade, and negotiations I should be financing around 35 or 36 which is quite affordable. What do you think of the A5?

Re: BMW 1 series
I've never spent more than $16K on a car and I don't intend to ever spend more than $20K (in inflation adjusted dollars) on a car no matter what my salary may be. My current vehicle is a 98 Ford Explorer, has 95K miles on it, and I intend to drive it until it dies. I just can't justify spending a lot of money on a car. But to each his own. The Audi A5 certainly looks nice.

Thanks for the link. One of the reasons I turned my head to an Audi is because it just screamed to me "this is THE car." Have you ever just had that feeling where you saw something and said "OOOOOOOHHHHH" and you had to have it? That's what happened when I saw the A5. Another was the fact that I had several friends and friends of friends that told me that Mercedes and BMW think their "shit don't stink." In other words, while there were no consistant issues, whenever they had issues they wouldn't seem to care and customer service lacked. But I heard that Audi tries VERY hard to please their customers.

I'm an overall kind of guy, I evaluate everything with a little more emphasis on the interior and the ride. I test drove the Infinite M and that thing is a beast. As for BMW and Mercedes you're preaching to the choir (watch the end).

Those are nice cars, no doubt about it. They are a little too pricey for me after all the extras. The Audi is actually too pricey for me too. I once said I would never consider a car over 40k unless it was the vette, but I really like the Audi. With every bell and whistle (manual though) the MSRP comes to 48,000...a little better than the Infiniti. That is definitely a great car, but I think I would have gone with the Infiniti G-37 if I did go Infiniti. By the way here is a good look at the A5:

Re: BMW 1 series
Ive been doing a lot of research on the 1 series. I think I like the look of it more than the 3 series. My heart lies with the M3...one of these days Ill get a new M3. I always think about it but its so hard to spend 60k on a car in good conscience... I thought about getting the 1 series instead of the M3. I figure the motor is the same horsepower as the old M3...and id be saving a ton of money...hell about half
Im very jealous about your mortgage payment. I live in North Jersey. I spend more per month in taxes on my house then you do for the payment. If I lived where you lived id already have my M3!!! hehe And I saw you said you child died a few years back. If you ever posted that on here I missed it. Im sorry for your loss.

My good friend has an M3 convertible. White with a black top. That thing is FAST, but in the city it drives like poo. On the highway it opens up and it's quite a machine. Quote:
